It’s taken my now husband, Matthew, and me a little while to write this review for The Edison Downtown—and honestly, it’s because we’ve been so overwhelmed with emotion in the best possible way. Since our wedding day, we’ve found ourselves tearing up daily, reminiscing about what was truly the most perfect day of our lives. It’s hard to find the words to describe just how magical it was, and it’s all thanks to The Edison Downtown, Belinda, Jemma, Dom, and the entire incredible team. We were married on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, after two years of planning and dreaming. We first booked The Edison Downtown in June of 2023, and since then, Belinda and her team have become such a meaningful part of our journey. While we currently live in South Florida, we are originally from Syracuse and Long Island, so we were looking for a location that would bring both of our families together in the middle. Planning a wedding from across the country—especially in a city that wasn’t “home” to either of our families—was no small feat. But from the very beginning, the staff at The Edison made everything so much easier, more enjoyable, and genuinely exciting. Belinda and her team went above and beyond by providing trusted vendor recommendations and even helping us find vendors who matched our budget. Their support never wavered and truly made all the difference in planning from afar. As the big day approached, The Edison graciously allowed us early access to the venue to set up—such a stress reliever! On the day itself, Jemma and Dom served as our main coordinators, and they were nothing short of phenomenal. Their care, attention, and calm energy allowed us to stay fully present and soak in every single moment. Belinda, the heart of The Edison, was also with us throughout the day, making sure everything went off without a hitch. Her presence and kindness were felt by not just us, but our families too. Now let’s talk about the food—wow! We still can’t stop thinking about it. From the cocktail hour to the plated dinner, everything was absolutely delicious. Hands down, some of the best food we’ve ever had! Our guests are still talking about how incredible it was, from the appetizers to the desserts—and yes, the surprises Belinda had in store for us were unforgettable! The beauty of the venue, the warmth of the staff, the attention to detail, and the overwhelming love we felt that day… it was all beyond our expectations. If you’re even thinking about booking The Edison Downtown for your wedding—DO IT. We promise, you won’t regret it. It will be one of the best decisions you make. My husband and I got married at the Edison Downtown on November 15th, 2025. The Edison Downtown and Seasons Catering were nothing short of extraordinary! The venue itself was an absolute dream — effortlessly beautiful, with touches of modern luxury woven into its historic walls. It’s truly a hidden gem in the heart of Schenectady. We knew we wanted something unique and industrial with touches of dark and moody, vintage romance; The Edison Downtown delivered all of that and more. Every space was absolutely stunning and immediately transported you. Whether you were walking into the ceremony room, exploring the cocktail hour spaces, or entering the ballroom, our guests were in awe as they moved from one room to the next. It was clear that every single person we spoke to and worked with along the way had the same shared goal of helping us create and carry out the wedding of our dreams. Belinda was wonderful from the very beginning, ensuring every detail was accounted for, from day-of staffing and meal coordination to rental delivery and takedown. She even made sure the bridal suite was open and stocked with champagne. Even though she was unable to attend the day-of, she consistently checked in with her team (and myself!) to make sure everything ran smoothly. Mary, the venue coordinator, was also amazing. She worked behind the scenes to ensure all staffing, vendor communication, floor plans, and logistics were seamlessly handled. Knowing she was managing those details gave us such peace of mind. Dom, our day-of planner and coordinator, was absolutely PHENOMENAL. Professional, attentive, and incredibly skilled, she flawlessly managed every detail from our rehearsal dinner the night before through the final moments of our reception. We felt completely supported and trusted her implicitly. I truly do not know what we would have done without her! And the food- WOW. Our guests raved about it all night. From cocktail hour through dessert, Seasons Catering delivered exceptional dishes that truly elevated the experience. We cannot recommend The Edison Downtown and Seasons Catering highly enough. They helped create the most perfect day, and we are endlessly grateful.
My husband and I had our wedding at The Edison Downtown in early October of this year. We had a really in-depth tour with Shelly over the summer when we first visited the venue. We were so excited about the space — a perfect mix of industrial and modern. We worked with Jena as our coordinator and wow — she was INCREDIBLE. During our initial planning meeting, I was overwhelmed with the amount of decisions that needed to be made about the timeline of the day, and she put me at ease and helped make our day happen. She helped us set up the reception room the day before and took charge during the rehearsal, which was so great. She was responsive to my texts when I had questions in the weeks leading up to the wedding. On the day of the wedding, she was on top of everything. She made sure I got into the venue without anyone seeing me before the ceremony; she helped sort out some minor ceremony delays; she checked in with me throughout the night to make sure I had what I needed, that I ate, that I had a drink, etc. She even stood next to me on the dance floor and spoon-fed me dessert 🙂 I can’t say enough about how great Jena was. She has such a calming presence while staying on top of all the details. I didn’t have to worry about anything the entire day, and nothing major went wrong. It was truly an incredible day. There’s a small, enclosed outdoor space that we were able to use, as well. We had mini cigars available; it was nice to have another area for people to gather and share a drink and a cigar. I also want to mention that everyone RAVED about the food. We had done a tasting prior to the wedding so we could choose our menu. The owner, Belinda, was there and provided way more food than we had asked for, explained what everything was, and introduced us to the chef (who ended up being the head chef for our wedding). It was a nice date night and we took a ton of food home. The food at the wedding was just as good as our tasting! They were extremely accommodating to dietary restrictions and are really flexible to do any type of menu/catering style you prefer. All around, a great experience!
Excellent experience at The Edison Downtown Schenectady. Belinda, Mary, and the entire staff were absolutely amazing—attentive, professional, and always willing to help. The service was flawless from start to finish, and it’s clear the team is truly committed to making every event special. Highly recommended for the atmosphere, organization, and especially the outstanding staff. Our wedding looked absolutely beautiful.
We rented The Edison Downtown for a music event recording and the space is absolutely beautiful. Every room has such character to it we hardly had to do anything for decor. Everything was clean and they provided everything we asked for at a great price. The people from The Edison were super easy to work with and very helpful the day of. I would 10/10 work with them again.
The Edison Downtown just hosted my daughter’s wedding on 8/24/24. From start to finish it was a very classy thanks to management and staff that run this amazing venue. There was nothing that was left to chance, from the wedding ceremony to the cocktail hour, and finally the dinner. The food was beyond amazing; not only was it cooked to perfection, but it was in amazingly large portions. The owner is very involved in every aspect, and that gives you an amazing event. Even the pricing is in line with other venues in the area. I cannot thank The Edison Downtown enough for making my daughter’s special day just that!
I honestly don’t even know where to begin. The Edison Downtown far exceeded all expectations I had. Our wedding was absolutely magical in every single way. Credit must be given where it is due and all of it goes to Belinda and her amazing staff. First off, The Edison gives an industrial chic vibe that exudes class. When you walk in you are greeted with stunning chandeliers, exposed brick walls, and wood. It immediately felt romantic and very intimate. I had a vision of string lights strung above the ceremony area which was brought to life under the chandeliers. The ceremony area was so intimate with a descending staircase that I was able to make a grand entrance with. I felt like an absolute princess walking down those stairs. I’ve had so many guests tell me that every part of the wedding was nothing like they’ve ever seen. We had a separate area called the “white room” where we had a make your own s’mores bar, a dessert station, and a photo booth. This room allowed the guests to step away from the reception which was my favorite part. The reception area is just stunning. The dance floor was quite large so we had no worries that people would be cramped dancing! The area was absolutely gorgeous with the table set up. I cannot rave more about the food and the staff at The Edison. Wow. I had three live food stations which were such a fun way to serve dinner. We had a carving station, pasta station and seafood station. The food was probably some of the best food that I’ve ever seen and eaten. Every single guest kept coming to me praising the food. The chef is absolutely amazing!! He made suggestions when we were creating our menu and he was just so helpful. Season’s Catering at The Edison has some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. And they have every option you could ever want for your big day. I think the most amazing part about The Edison has to be the staff. Not only were they the most accommodating people I’ve ever met but they were genuinely happy to be there and help us. They were so kind and even took behind the scene videos of me walking down the staircase so that I could see from their view. The staff seems like a true “work” family and they made us all feel like we were a part of The Edison family. They waited on us hand and foot. We really felt like royalty which I know sounds corny! Every part of my wedding was flawless. We had an upstairs apartment that we were able to rent so all of the girls could get ready in. My wedding planner, Yvette, was so incredible. She made me feel so calm and relaxed. She truly had my back and I loved working with her. Belinda, the head of everything, made me feel like I was her own daughter who was about to get married. She made sure I had everything that I wanted and was realistic and honest with things that weren’t going to be able to happen. Her attention to detail goes without saying. She is a true professional and had every answer to my questions. Every recommendation she gave me was 10/10. I cannot thank her and her amazing staff for making my wedding pure magic. I really cannot thank The Edison enough. February 26, 2022 was the best day of my life. Thank you!
You 100% want to have your wedding at the Edison Downtown. My husband I just got married here on 10/25 and from start to finish, there’s absolutely nothing I would change and nothing that could’ve been better. The venue itself is absolutely stunning and the different locations for ceremony, cocktail and reception people could not stop talking about how unique and cool the place was. The cocktail hour food was PLENTIFUL and absolutely delicious. Bar lines do not get extremely long as the bartenders are fast and they 100% know how to work through a room quickly and efficiently (this goes for the reception as well). The reception food was the best food my husband and I have ever had at a wedding and I can’t even tell you the amount of guests who said the same. Belinda, Jemma, Mary and the whole team are 100% dedicated to making the day smooth, efficient, and that you have the most amazing day. From their coordination with our other vendors to keeping everything on time, their expertise absolutely made the day everything it was. I am very Type A and have lots of questions and expectations and they knocked every single one of them out of the park. There is not something that can come up that they won’t handle for you. This team and this place is beyond the best choice I made through my planning process. Thank you guys.
This is a great, full service wedding venue. Phenomenal food—and I mean phenomenal—and service. Can not recommend this place more highly.
